One of the most common problems for people of any age is to avoid very curly hair, especially on very wet days.
While there are many products available in cosmetics stores against curly hair, you can also take advantage of natural and homemade recipes, along with some recommendations that will help you avoid curly hair.
Causes of curly hair
Having very curly hair can happen for several reasons. The most common reason is dryness or lack of hydration, but other causes are heat stress, overuse of hair dyes, or having naturally or porous dry hair.
Home treatments to avoid curly hair?
- We will use the puree of a ripe banana and add a tablespoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of sunflower oil. Mix well and then apply it to the hair. Leave it on for half an hour and then wash your hair as usual, but do not use a hair dryer, it is advisable to let it “air dry.”
- Mix a quarter cup of olive oil with a raw egg. Apply the mixture on the hair after washing it, or at least wet first. Let the hair stand with the mixture for 30 minutes and wash the hair again. Olive oil is a great emollient that helps moisturize hair, while eggs contain lecithin, which is an amino acid used to repair tissues and create new cells.
- Mix the puree of a ripe banana with the pulp of an avocado. Apply the paste on damp hair and let stand for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing. Wash your hair as usual. Bananas contain a lot of antioxidants that help repair hair, and avocados contain fatty acids that are ideal for nourishing hair.
- Mix a cup of homemade or normal mayonnaise with half of an avocado. Apply on the hair and let stand for at least half an hour, wrapping the head with a wet towel and covered with a plastic bag or hot lid. Then, wash your hair as usual.
- Rubbing a raw egg into your hair helps treat very curly hair. Massages well on the scalp and areas that are especially rebellious. Leave it in 15 minutes before washing with your normal shampoo and conditioner.
Natural masks to treat very curly hair
- Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with a liter of water and shake it very well. Massage the mixture into dry hair before washing it. This is a natural alternative to other treatments and not only helps to remove curly hair, but also adds shine to the hair.
- Use any natural or essential oil, such as coconut oil or almond oil. These nourish the hair and also make it smell delicious. Wash your hair normally and when it is semi dry, put a few drops of oil on the hair and scalp.
- Olive oil is another option that can be more readily available if you already have it at home.
- Massage the hair with a tablespoon of pure honey. It is a great natural conditioner and has a very sweet smell. You can also mix it with essential oils and apply it to the hair, leaving it for 10 minutes. After any treatment, rinse with cold water and then wash it as usual.
- You can even use carbonated water or soda club. After washing your hair normally, give a final rinse with hot carbonated water.
- Mix a cup of yogurt with the mixture of half a large cucumber. Apply this to the hair and leave it on for about half an hour. Rinse with warm water, untangling the hair with your fingers.
- Combine a cup of coconut milk, two tablespoons of honey and two tablespoons of olive oil. Add the puree of the pulp of an avocado. This mask is very nutritious for the hair, once applied; leave it about 30 minutes before rinsing completely. Wash as usual.
- Mix a can of coconut cream with four tablespoons of lemon juice. While your hair is clean and dry, apply this mask and cover your hair with a shower cap for at least an hour to let the ingredients take effect. Wash with your normal shampoo and conditioner. Repeat this process twice a week.
- Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a tablespoon from your favorite conditioner. You can do this every time you wash your hair.
Recommendations to avoid curly hair
- Choose high quality hair products: Try not to spare any expense. Some products are specially made to combat very curly hair, but be sure to avoid those that contain alcohol.
- Always wash your hair with warm or cold water, never use hot water because it can dry your hair more.
- After washing, be sure to dry it with a towel and apply a moisturizer before combing it and let it air dry.
- Do not use accessories such as ties and clips as they can damage and break hair filaments. In addition, it is advisable not to stretch your hair too much and it is better to wear it loose.
- It is better to use wooden brushes, as plastic or metal brushes can produce more static electricity.
- Avoid the use of curlers and hair dryers. If you should use a hair dryer, use it sparingly and always keep it 12 inches away from the scalp.
- Try not to wash your hair every day because it opens the pores and is a cause of very curly hair. While of course you should shower every day, resist the temptation to wash your hair more than every other day or every other day.
