Many can be the causes of spots on the skin, but there is a very efficient way to reverse them by using and applying turmeric on the complexion, read on to know their properties to whiten the skin naturally.
Causes of spots on the skin
Hyperpigmentation is a disorder characterized by dark areas on the skin or spots on the skin and is caused by increased amount of melanin, the dark pigment of the skin. Exposure to sunlight, pregnancy, certain diseases, aging or trauma, can lead to melanin disorders and create brown spots on the skin that are characteristic of this benign disorder.
We can divide the causes of spots on the skin into two groups: external and internal. External causes may be those that come from the environment, such as exposure to sunlight, or chemical compounds (betaxolol, minocycline, estrogen, progesterone, etc.). The internal causes can be innate – people with darker skin are more likely to develop this disorder. Also spots on the skin can suggest liver problems and hormonal imbalances, among other things.
Freckles, age spots and sun spots are caused by the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays that damage melanin and cause temporary or permanent discoloration. Very often, spots can be seen on the hands and face; however, they can occur anywhere on the skin that has been exposed to the sun. Scarring from trauma or surgery can also cause skin discoloration, and even when the problem is gone, dark spots remain. Melasma is a hyperpigmentation of the skin that occurs during pregnancy, although it can sometimes affect men as well. Often, it is called the pregnancy mask because brown spots appear on the face – mainly the nose and cheeks. This disorder usually goes away on its own after pregnancy and does not cause any major problems.
The important thing is to know that spots on the skin can disappear when it is a momentary factor that is causing them, for example, high exposure to the sun, but there are factors that will persist if they are internal and are not solved. Even so, genetics is, in most cases, the cause of stains that persist.
In those cases, obviously the care not to be exposed to the sun and to have a healthy diet (not loaded with processed foods that affect the liver and unbalance hormones -if these are triggers of the spots-), are recommended almost for life. But also, at the same time, you can help yourself with home and natural remedies that can lighten the spots on the skin. For example, turmeric.
How to remove spots on the skin with turmeric?
Turmeric root and rhizome contain curcumin, and it is this component that is used for medicinal purposes. Focusing on skin alone, research shows that curcumin helps fight skin cancer, helps in healing eczema wounds, treats acne and scabies and can be used to lighten the skin.
Often dark pigmentation spots on facial skin are caused by age spots, hormonal imbalances, and an accumulation of overexposure to ultra-vivid rays, as we have already mentioned. Turmeric can be used in face masks to lighten unwanted skin spots. For longer duration or a mask during the night, turmeric can be combined with oil – such as coconut or olive oil. By leaving the skin longer, turmeric can penetrate the skin more deeply while the oil nourishes and moisturizes the skin.
